Discipline 33

notes

All compositions and arrangements by Sun Ra (Enterplanetary Koncepts, BMI)

Recorded October 19 and 20 (Sea Of Sounds, Rocket Number Nine), 1972, at Streeterville Recording Studio, Chicago

Mixed at The Village Recorder, Los Angeles

The Arkestra and Space Ethnic Voices perform with permission from El Saturn Records

Special thanks to Kevin Donan at A-1 Records.

Note: Space Is The Place was originally released on Blue Thumb Records in 1973 as BTS-41. Impulse producer Ed Michel supervised the recording session. Impulse, then owned by ABC, was releasing many of Sun Ra's albums under a distribution agreement with Saturn Records during the same time. For these reasons Space In The Place has been returned to its rightful place on Impulse.

℗ 1998 MCA Records, Inc. & © 1972 MCA Records, Inc. & 1998 GRP Records, Inc.
Made in the EU.

Track 3 is named "Discipline" in the tracklist on back and "Discipline 33" in the tracklist on disc and in the booklet.
"Discipline 33" is used on the original LP.

The following artists are credited with compound names:
Kwame Hadi (Lamont McClamb), trumpet (#2, 4)
Atakatun (Stanley Morgan), Odun (Russell Branch), percussion (#4)

Credits annotation: (as all Marines are riflemen, all members of the Arkestra are percussionists)

Front, spine and disc only mention "Sun Ra", back panel and booklet mention Sun Ra And His Astro Intergalactic Infinity Arkestra.

Released in 6-panel Digipak with 12 pp. booklet.

Identical with Space Is The Place, except for the manufacturer mentioned in the disc matrix. The disc for this edition was manufactured after late 2011. All compositions and arrangements Enterplanetary Koncepts, BMI
