‘Won’t Be Back No More’ from blues legend Luther ‘Guitar Junior’ Johnson. This is an intimate solo acoustic album recorded at Luther’s home in Wildwood, Florida. ‘Won’t Be Back No More’ is the first release of new material in nearly 20 years. Wanting it to be something personal for his fans, Luther touches upon topics that span his lifetime of experiences. Of the sixteen tracks on this album eight are completely original, three are rearraigned by Luther, and the remaining five are by his contemporaries. Two tracks, ‘I’m Ready’ and ‘Whose Gonna Be Your Sweet Man’ were penned by Luther’s bandmate of nearly 8 years, Muddy Waters.

‘Won’t Be Back No More’ was recorded in one session on June 26, 2020. It was very spontaneous without retakes or overdubs. Luther Johnson wanted to give his fans a look at a different side of him and his music. It has the feel of sitting with Luther on his porch on a hot Florida summer afternoon. ‘Won’t Be Back No More’ is a somewhat tongue in cheek title, as we are looking at more new music from Luther ‘Guitar Junior’ Johnson in 2020 and beyond.
