Recorded June 12th, 2012, in the forest surrounding Guilford Sound, Guilford, VT. "Inuksuit is a continuous listening experience. For convenience, index cues are provided on on this recording."

Inuksuit was commissioned by the Banff Centre, Muzik3 Foundation, and Furman University. Post-production was funded in part through a grant from the Aaron Copland Fund for Music, Inc.

DVD presents Stereo & Surround audio versions of Inuksuit recording with same performers, through a series of static images that slowly morph from one to next. "For optimum listening, this package contains a high-resolution surround-sound mix on DVD. Unlike film mixes, each channel of the Inuksuit surround mix has a full range of frequencies. This more faithfully reproduces the experience of being surrounded by musicians when hearing the piece live."

DVD also includes the documentary video performance, "Strange and Sacred Noise", produced and directed by Len Kamerling. A production of the Alaska Center for Documentary Film Museum of the North, Fairbanks, Alaska, and a National Endowment for the Arts American Masterpieces Film Project. "'Strange and Sacred Noise' is a celebration of chaos and elemental violence in nature. Hearing and seeing it performed on the tundra in Alaska inspired me to create a new work conceived from the outset to be experienced outdoors: Inuksuit."-JLA
