"The Water Is Wide: American And British Ballads And Folksongs" was initially released as "John Langstaff Sings American And English Folksongs And Ballads" on Traditions Records in 1957.

"At The Foot Of Yonders Mountain" was originally released in 1961 as "John Powell: Five Virginian Folk Songs, Opus 34 And Five Traditional Children's Songs." Opus 34 was published in 1938.

"Nottamun Town British And American Folksongs And Ballads" was released as a mono recording in 1964 by EMI as "John Langstaff Sings" (CLP 1833).

"The Lark In The Morn And Other Folksongs And Ballads" is an archival recording compiled from His Master's Voice recordings made in the period from 1949 to 1956.
