"Calling Out Of Context" contains previously unreleased tracks, including several songs from Russell's scrapped "Corn" album (1985) and tracks from an abandoned album recorded between 1986-1990 for Rough Trade. "Make 1, 2" and "Hop On Down" (originally titled "Hop On Down To Petland") were planned to be released as singles.

Released in standard jewel case with 20 pp. booklet. Comes in a 3 panel digipak without a booklet.
