But, you may wonder, if the God of the universe, who can do all things, allows His chosen ones to go through hard times, what does suffering mean, and how can we begin to understand it? Furthermore, how, as Christians, can we cope with the trials that God permits in our lives?

Perhaps, you, too, are struggling with hard times and are wondering "Where is God in this situation?" Are you struggling to find God's meaning in your life during times of pain and suffering? Do you wonder how a good God can allow suffering? Maybe you have expectations of how God should act or protect or respond to your prayers. Maybe you are disappointed with how He has "failed" you.

Colly Tettelbach RN, MSN, MA (Theology) is a retired nursing and health sciences educator. After the death of her husband, God led her to become a healthcare chaplain, which she has been for several years.

Colly has experienced God's goodness and His love in so many areas of her life and has written this book to describe how He had brought her through some really tough times. When people remark on what a "strong" woman she is, she points to her Heavenly Father and says, "I'm not, but God is!" Her desire is to share God's goodness with others.
