Ipsa hates reading human prayers.

Unfortunately, that's the task she's destined to spend an eternity doing.

An angel in the Prayer Reader Department, Ipsa must read a never-ending flood of earthly prayers before delivering them to the mysterious Answering Department. Unlike other prayer readers, Ipsa finds most humans-known as Hopelings in their world-to be whiny, their prayers forgettable.

Until she stumbles on one prayer she's not allowed to read.

That cryptic prayer sparks a connection with its hopeling owner Ipsa can't quite understand, setting her on a path to find the fourteen-year-old boy who sent it. As Ipsa searches for clues, her sleuthing reveals an unsettling observation: So many prayers go unanswered.

In a race against time, Ipsa must decide how much she'll risk for a hopeling she's never met.
