This event is the official release party of Simple Math’s first recording, Tangent, on Octave Records, a unique Colorado record label with musical diversity. This is the original Trio that made the recording with Charles Blenzig on Keyboards, JJ Mazza on Drumz and Hunter Roberts on Basses. Charles has worked with The Gil Evans Orchestra, Michael Brecker, Gato Barbieri, Bill Evans, Jerry Bergonzi, Randy Brecker, Lou Soloff, Mike Stern, Lee Ritenour, Hiram Bullock, Chuck Loeb, Roy Ayers, Joe Locke, Will Lee, Marcus Miller, Eddie Gomez, John Patitucci, Dennis Chambers, Harvey Mason, Kenwood Denard, Jeff "Tain" Watts, Buddy Williams, Mike Clark, Billy Kilson, Dave Weckl, singer/songwriter Michael Franks and many others. JJ is currently studying at the prestigious Manhattan School of Music where he received a full scholarship. He graduated from DSA and attended the Colorado Conservatory for Jazz Arts under the direction of Paul Romaine. Hunter, a University of Denver graduate with a degree in Music and Visual Arts, has performed with Robert Randolph, Maurice “Mobetter” Brown, Break Science, Matt Wilson, The Colorado Symphony, among others.
