An ominous storm is rolling in over Appaloosa, carrying with it a band of night riders who show up at the Rio Blanco camp, where a three-hundred-foot bridge is under construction. When Appaloosa's sheriff and deputies suddenly vanish without a trace, territorial Marshals Virgil Cole and Everett Hitch saddle up to sort things out. But Cole and Hitch have no idea of the dangers they're about to face, or how far-reaching the destruction will be as the clouds over Appaloosa grow even darker.
