8Women Physician Pioneers of the 1960s is a biographical account of a group of classmates from UCSF medical school whose lives and careers were tracked by social scientist Lillian Cartwright for 50 years. Using this data, collected through a series of interviews and surveys, one of the women, Susan Detweiler, authored this intimate account of what brought these women into medicine and how they pursued their careers.
