Enamored by both the stillness and motion of tattoo art and its dynamic human canvas, Masato Sudo has been intent on capturing the beauty of Japanese tattoos for over 35 years as a contemporary photographer. In this second collection of his irezumi imagery, he focuses his camera on 20 models who are covered from head to toe in tattoo done by Horiyoshi III, an extraordinary and renowned tattoo artist. Sudo introduces not only the detailed work of Horiyoshi III, but also the expressions captured outside in nature in his photography. Ransho beautifully captures the magnificent technique of the legendary irezumi master.
