#2724;્રની વાર્તાઓ ખુબ જ જૂની છે. તે મૂળરૂપથી સંસ્કૃતમાં લખવામાં આવી હતી. આ નાની વાર્તાઓ ના માત્ર વાંચવામાં રોચક છે, બલ્કે બાળકોને નૈતિક શિક્ષાનો પાઠ પણ ભણાવે છે. પ્રત્યેક વાર્તા કોઈને કોઈ શિક્ષા કે શીખ અવશ્ય આપે છે. આ જ કારણ છે કે, આ વાર્તાઓને બધા આયુવર્ગના વાચકો અત્યંત મનપૂર્વક વાંચે છે. 'પંચતંત્ર' શબ્દ બે શબ્દોના મેળથી બન્યો છે- 'પંચ' અર્થાત્ પાંચ અને 'તંત્ર' અર્થાત્ આચરણના નિયમ. પંચતંત્ર મુખ્યતઃ પશુ-પક્ષીઓની કથાઓનું નીતિશાસ્ત્ર છે, જેમને બાળકો અત્યંત પસંદ કરે છે. અહીંયા અમે રંગ-બિરંગી ચિત્રો સહિત પંચતંત્રની કથાઓ પ્રસ્તુત કરી રહ્યા છીએ. આશા છે કે, બાળ વાચકો આ વાર્તાઓને વાંચીને આનંદિત થશે.
